Membership in the Kitchener-Waterloo Branch

 

Our Branch of the International Wine & Food Society operates as a social club to allow our Members to interact with like-minded people in a convivial atmosphere over the pleasures of good food and good wine. Membership in the Kitchener-Waterloo Branch is by invitation and is limited to about 20 to 25 couples.  New member candidates must be sponsored by current Branch Members.  We warmly welcome guests (subject to any space limitations, and with the exception of the annual Christmas Dinner). To ensure high standards and quality, our events are limited to a maximum of 35 to 40 participants.

 

Membership in the Kitchener-Waterloo Branch also provides membership in the International Society.  A Member is welcome to participate in functions at other branches throughout the world. International meetings are held at least once a year in different parts of the world.

 

Our Branch’s goals are to:

·        Hold monthly events that are fun!

·        Support the restaurateurs and chefs in our community.

·        Promote wider knowledge and understanding of the wines and foods of the world.

·        Enhance our appreciation and discernment of good wines and good food.

·        Encourage and nurture friendships among individuals who share culinary and oenological interests.

Our activities consist of dinners, winery visits, weekend getaway events, wine tastings, and cooking demonstrations. Our objectives are primarily social, gastronomic, educational, and non-commercial in nature.
