Kitchener-Waterloo
Branch
Kitchener and
Waterloo, Ontario are twin cities with a combined population approaching
400,000 people. Located about 60 miles southwest of Toronto,
Kitchener-Waterloo is a prosperous community with a diverse and robust economy;
many fine restaurants; a first-rate symphony
orchestra; two internationally renowned think tanks -- the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical
Physics and the Centre for
International Governance Innovation; the revolutionary Institute for Quantum Computing; and two leading
universities, University of Waterloo and Wilfrid
Laurier University.
Next year our
branch will celebrate the 30th anniversary of receiving our charter.
Founded in 1987, our IW&FS Branch consists of 21 couples. Each of our
members brings something special to our group, making every event a
scintillating and often boisterous one. We are a light-hearted group,
perhaps somewhat irreverent, but we all share a love of great food, fine wine,
and good company …. the true spirit of André Simon’s founding principles!
If you should
find yourself in our beautiful corner of the world, please feel free to drop by
during any of our scheduled events. Just E-mail our Branch Contact Minto Schneider.
